SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio River Walk and the Alamo ranked among the top five "most Instagrammable" Texas tourist destinations, according to a study done by TexasRealEstateSource.com.

The study analyzed TripAdvisor data for the most popular tourist destinations in Texas and searched Instagram for hashtags relating to each attraction. The hashtag with the most posts under it was then chosen and the attractions were ranked from the highest number of Instagram posts to the lowest.

The San Antonio River Walk took first place with 168,901 posts under the hashtag #sanantonioriverwalk. The Alamo ranked fourth with 144,245 posts.

Also in the top five were popular Lone Star State attractions like the Houston Zoo, coming in second place; the home of the Dallas Cowboys, AT&T Stadium, in third; and Austin's Lady Bird Hike-and-Bike Trail in fifth.

“The list reveals the most photographed spots in Texas, from historical sites to peaceful, relaxing landscapes,” a TexasRealEstateSource.com press release said. “It reveals the most-loved spots to visit and share with friends on Instagram, with the San Antonio River Walk capturing users’ attention most.”

TexasRealEstateSource.com suggests tourists on vacation to the Lone Star State use the top 10 ranking as a starting point for their visit to ensure they see the most exciting sights in Texas.
