CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Sandra Vasquez pled guilty and was sentenced Thursday for her part in the 2016 murder of Breanna Wood.
The case's final defendant was sentenced Thursday.
Four charges are included in her guilty plea, however they do not include capital murder and murder charges. She was sentenced to 15 years in prison for robbery and for engaging in organized crime. A total of seven people were originally arrested in the case. She also pled guilty to fraudulent use/possession of identifying information, for which she was sentenced to 10 years in prison, and she was sentenced to two years for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Her sentences will be served concurrently, and she will get credit for time served.
Vasquez originally was set to go to trial in January 2024. Her co-defendant Joseph Tejeda pled guilty to murder charges in August, and was sentenced 65 years in prison for murder, burglary and assault on a public officer.
His sentences also will run concurrently.
Wood's body was found wrapped in heavy plastic. She had a gunshot wound to the head and broken arms, and was found in a 16 x 24 ft. box inside an abandoned house in Bluntzer.
