CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb visited the School of Science & Technology Wednesday to read a special proclamation after the school was named a 2019 National School of Character by Character.org.
The school has implemented Character.org's "11 Principles of Effective Character" by providing students with chances for moral action, shared leadership and engaging families and communities in an effort to build character.
The school has been recognized as the 2019 State School of Character, the 2019 Promising Practice, and the 2019 National School of Character.
Mayor McComb read a proclamation to students recognizing them for their achievement.
The School of Science & Technology will be honored at Character.org's 2019 National Forum. It will be held Oct. 24-27 in Washington, DC.
