South Texas bred comedian Steve Trevino spreads holiday cheer

Corpus Christi (KIII News) — A comedian originally from South Texas who's made it big came back home Friday for a one night show at the American Bank Center and before taking the stage he spread some cheer at the Ronald McDonald House of Corpus Christi.

Steve Trevino dressed as an elf to join Santa at the charity to pass out goodie bags to the children and families who call the facility home. The Ronald McDonald House offers a place for children who are patients of Driscoll Children's Hospital a place to stay as they undergo treatment.

Giving back to the children today was something Trevino says is close to his home, because he is a father himself.

"I couldn't imagine my kid being ill. And I thought if I could donate a little bit of money and come down here and give some gifts and\ a little cheer to them because they can't go there it was very important to me," said Trevino.

One dollar from every ticket to Trevino's comedy show tonight was donated to the Ronald McDonald House.

Trevino has a new comedy special airing on Netflix, but a warning, it is for mature audiences.
