CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Part flying club, part flight school, Splendid Aviation has joined the Corpus Christi International Airport, helping folks who are interested in learning how to fly.
Previously located at the airport in Aransas Pass, the group offers various trainings and even gives discovery flights for those who want to become a pilot.
"A discovery flight means we'll get you in the cockpit of the aircraft up in the sky for about an hour, feel what it's like to be an aviator and to be a pilot and that is where you are hooked," Director of Flight and Member Operations Olivia Stokes said. "As soon as you take control of that plane, you want to be a pilot because its the best experience you've had."
Stokes said its never too early or too late to let your aviation journey take flight.
"We could get [students] as young as 16 years old, I have a 15-year-old student actually as well, and I have a 75-year-old student, so there's no time in your life where you can say I'm too young or too old to be a pilot, it's accessible at any age of your life."
