ROCKPORT, Texas — Help continues to pour into the Coastal Bend even 22 months after Hurricane Harvey made landfall.
A group of students from Colorado State University visited residents in Rockport, Texas, to help with recovery. The students come from the Ethnographic Field School for Risk and Disaster.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi set up the collaboration with Colorado to allow the students to witness a first-hand account of how research is conducted and what it means to live through a disaster.
"If we can figure out a better way to better prepare people, to make it so people have a better understanding of the events that are going to happen and how to recover better, that's really what we're trying to get to," sophomore Maizie Anders said.
The students will be in Rockport until July and plan to interview residents who were directly affected by the hurricane.
