CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Students over at Riviera ISD's Nanny Elementary School participated in their own election on Tuesday!
School officials hope the student election will help prepare the young minds to better understand local elections and presidential elections.
A few students played the role of candidates. They read speeches and traveled from class to class on their "campaign trail," letting each student know what they could do better for the campus.
One of those candidates, Ashlyn, told 3NEWS why she thinks it's important to vote!
"It is really important to vote because let's say you think bad about one person, but you think good about another person," she said. "Well, you want the good person to win. So, by your responsibility, you go and you vote for the person you want to be voted for."
