CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man who was convicted of robbing a convenience store clerk at knifepoint last year has been sentenced to prison.
Police said 29-year-old Richard Fondville robbed a Stop-n-Shop store in Kingsville, Texas, back in July of 2018. He tied up the clerk in a storeroom after robbing him at knifepoint. A customer was able to free the store clerk and call police after Fondville ran off.
Witnesses were able to identify Fondville because the clerk recognized his voice.
Police said when Fondville was arrested he kicked an officer in the chest.
Fonville faces 30 years in prison for kidnapping, and 30 years for aggravated robbery, along with another 10 years for assaulting a police officer.
