CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A second suspect in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Alexis Gonzales was in court Wednesday.
Freddy Davis pled not guilty to charges of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On Monday, 3NEWS was inside the courtroom when another of the three suspects, Attrieon Sherrill, pled not guilty to his charges, which include two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one charge for murder.
The deadly shooting took place in February, during which 20-year-old Alexis Gonzales was struck by a stray bullet.
According to the police, several people were shot that night after a fight turned fatal.
Unrelated to this case, Sherrill also faces a separate indictment for aggravated robbery. Another suspect, Jacob Salomon, is expected to be in court Tuesday.
The victim's mother was also in the courtroom on Monday.
"We figured his plea would be not guilty, which is what he pled," she said. "We will continue to stand behind my daughter as her voice and will continue to seek justice for her. We are all she has."
