CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Ingleside Primary School and Gilbert J. Mircovich Elementary received 900 free school supply kits thanks to the nonprofit, The TEXAS YES Project.
The nonprofit's goal is to supply kinder through fifth grade students in Title 1 schools with the tools they need for a great start to a new school year.
"It really helps our parents, you know, school supplies are not getting cheaper, and our kids need supplies in order to be successful in the classroom," Ingleside ISD Superintendent Scott Kilgore said.
Ingleside students were not the only ones blessed with school supply kits this week. The TEXAS YES Project teamed up with lawyer Thomas J. Henry to bring supply kits to several Coastal Bend campuses, like Rose Shaw Elementary on Tuesday.
Inside all the kits were goodies like crayons, pencils, notebooks, tissues and a jumbo eraser!
