CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A suicide awareness walk on Saturday at Calallen Middle School will honor a 19-year-old young man who took his own life.
Back in 2015, Colten Paige a graduate from Calallen High School decided to take his own life.
After the death of Colten, local assistant fire chief and father Randy Paige and his wife wanted to do whatever they could to bring awareness to this often taboo subject of suicide.
For the third year in a row Walk for Colten will be held at the Calallen Middle School track. The event brings awareness of the problem to the community and offers ways to get help.
All of the money raised during the walk will go towards the Colten Andrew Paige Memorial Scholarship fund.
The walk starts at 9 a.m. and registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
