CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department announced that US Marshals arrested the man who fled the scene at a reported robbery Thursday night. The man was located on the 4500 block of Dolphin Place and was identified as 37-year-old Jeese Rose.
It was discovered that Rose sustained injuries after three CCPD officers fired their duty weapons into his vehicle when it appeared he was trying to reverse into the officers.
Rose was treated at a local hospital before being medically released. He was then transported to the City Detention Center for booking.
According to CCPD officials, officers arrived at the scene of a burglary call on the 2900 block of S.P.I.D. around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. They made contact with a man in a vehicle who began making suspicious movements under the front seat before reversing his vehicle towards the officers.
That is when CCPD says the three officers fired their weapons into the vehicle.
The unoccupied vehicle was found several miles from the scene a short time later.
It is department policy for the officers to be placed on administrative leave after discharging their service weapons.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. If you have any information, you can contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at 361-886-2600. If you would like to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online.
