Holiday Hills Christmas Trees are back in the Coastal Bend

The tree stand will be open seven-days-a-week this holiday season.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Were you one of the Coastal Bend residents looking to experience a bit of Christmas on Thanksgiving? Some folks were in the market Thursday for that perfect Christmas tree.

One stand has offered that opportunity to shop on thanksgiving for 35 years now.

We headed over to the back parking lot of La Palmera mall where the Holiday Hills Christmas Tree tents are now up and filled with fresh cut trees.

Annie Lane is with Holiday Hills Christmas trees and said getting your fresh cut tree in water and then continuing to keep it watered is the key to making it last through Christmas.

"The most important part is to get it home within 30 minutes. And then back in the water. Otherwise, that fresh cut stump starts to seal, and it won't drink," said Lane.

Workers were busy sawing trees and hammering tree stands in place as shoppers made their way around tent.

Isaiah Zuniga stopped by this tree stand to try and find the perfect tree on this Thanksgiving day. We found some trees inside here that cost nearly $1000. There were also some closer to the $100 mark.

"Either a Douglas fir type of tree mostly because it's more affordable since it's very expensive nowadays and especially with food and stuff."

This tree stand is going to be open seven days a week during this holiday shopping season.  If you do decide to come by the folks here say that if you do not have a car big enough to fit your Christmas tree in, delivery is available.
