CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — CCPD is alerting the public about a possible problem they may have with reaching 911 operators Tuesday morning.
The department released a statement on social media just before 9 a.m. saying that AT&T technicians are working towards a resolution as quickly as possible.
"We are aware of an AT&T network problem that may affect a customer's ability to make and receive calls, including 911 calls. This AT&T outage is affecting numerous counties in Texas, including Nueces County."
The outage is affecting the ability for mobile carrier customers to contact 911 and the non-emergency line. AT&T has informed CCPD that if you call 911 or the non-emergency line and are unable to get through, you should continue trying to call as the interruption is intermittent and you should eventually get through to emergency responders.
