CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Residents on the south side of Corpus Christi will soon have a new option when it comes to affordable housing.
Dignitaries broke ground Thursday for the new Village at Henderson Apartments located on Henderson Street near Yorktown. The brand new complex will feature 88-units with two-and-three bedroom apartments.
The idea for the apartment is to make sure all families in Corpus Christi will have a place to live regardless of their income.
"There is a huge need for affordable housing. especially for working families," said Gil Piette, Executive Director of Prospera Housing. "But it's geared towards people that are working and raising families. Whoever, need some help with housing."
Village at Henderson Apartments one of several developments from the Prospera Company with the first was built in Calallen in 2018.
According to developers, they hope to have families moving in within the next few months.
