CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Super Tuesday is the single largest day of voting on the primary calendar. More than 50 voting locations in Nueces County will open their doors from 7:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m.
Voters will have the chance to make decisions that affect leaders at the state, county, and presidential levels for this open primary election.
There is typically a lot happening Election Day, between this morning's fog, traffic, and long lines at polling centers. So here is a look at what you should bring with you to your polling place, what races to look out for and where to go to vote.
Here's what to bring with you if you're heading to the voting center. Voters will not be able to take out their cell phones once they are voting.
To cast a ballot, one of the following forms of photo identification is required. Those include:
- Texas Driver License
- Texas Handgun License issued by DPS
- U.S. citizenship certificate containing your photograph
- Texas Personal Identification Card issued by DPS
- Texas Election Identification Certificate issued by DPS
- U.S. Passport (book or card)
- U.S. Military Identification Card containing your photograph
If you do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one of these photo IDs, you can still vote with a copy or original of one of the following approved documents after filling out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration:
- Certified Domestic Birth Certificate
- Court Admissible Birth Document
- Current Utility Bill
- Bank Statement
- Government Check
- Paycheck
- Government document with your name and an address including your Voter Registration Certificate
Voters can only vote in one primary race. Across the Coastal Bend, here are some of the key races you might see on your ballot:
- US President (Dem and GOP)
- US Senate (Dem and GOP)
- US House, Districts 15, 27, 28 and 34
- Railroad Commissioner
- Texas House District 34 (Dem)
- Nueces County District Attorney
- Bee and Live Oak counties District Attorney
- Refugio County District Attorney
- Refugio County Sheriff
- Nueces County District Attorney (GOP)
- Bee and Live Oak counties District Attorney (GOP)
- Bee County Sheriff (GOP)
- Aransas County Sheriff (GOP)
- Refugio County District Attorney (GOP)
- Refugio County Sheriff (GOP)
- Jim Hogg County Sheriff (Dem)
