Watch our local talent preform with international Christian pop group Gen Verde Saturday night at the new Carroll HS arena

The free concert will begin at 7p.m. tomorrow at the new Mary Carroll High School arena.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — After a week of practice, the students who participated in the performing arts camp hosted by Gen Verde and the Diocese of Corpus Christi will show off their hard work while performing with the international Christian pop group tomorrow night.

The concert is free to the public and doors will open at 6p.m. tomorrow at the new Mary Carroll High School arena with the concert beginning at 7p.m.

A familiar face to KIII, Katia Uriarte and a member from Gen Verde Nancy Uelmen joined us on First Edition this morning to welcome the community to the concert.

"There a little over 40 young people who are taking part in these workshops, singing, dancing, drums and drama," said Uriarte. "The kids who are in the drumming part had never done that before and you should see them now. Come bring the whole family, it's going to be amazing."

Uelmen shared more about Gen Verde.

"We're 19 women from 14 different countries, so our message is very international," said Uelmen. "It's about building peace and dialogue even among people who are very different. Our music is kind of Christian pop it's very lively, it's got a lot of messages I think the whole family can enjoy."
