A female contractor working at the Valero East refinery had to be rushed to a hospital Wednesday morning after being severely burned.
It happened around 11 a.m. at the plant, which is located in the 5400 block of Up River Road.
Authorities said the victim works for a company that contracts with Valero. She reportedly suffered burns over a significant portion of her body. At last report, she was being treated at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
