A daylong flaring event at the Valero West Refinery in Corpus Christi began as a result of a power outage in that area. The flare generated thick smoke that could be seen for miles around.
3-News did speak with a Valero official who says the ground flare should be done within 24-hours. Workers will be allowed back on site Tuesday.
