The Harbor Bridge Replacement project is one step closer to groundbreaking. The Texas Department of Transportation announced Friday that the final environmental impact statement has been issued by the Federal Highway Administration.
The statement says that all project studies have been completed and identifies the red alternative route as the recommended route for the new Harbor Bridge. The new bridge will have three 12-foot wide travel lanes in each direction, a median barrier and also a shared bike and walking lane.
