CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — On Saturday morning, the City of Corpus Christi sent out a news release notifying residents they would begin releasing water from Lake Corpus Christi.
Due to recent rainfall, city officials decided to open one flood gate at the Wesley Seale Dam to release water into the Nueces River. Officials warned downstream residents of minor flooding.
The release also stated that river levels may rise within the next 18 to 24 hours, as of Saturday morning. Additionally, city officials will monitor lake levels and let water out as necessary.
