A driver was arrested for DWI Monday afternoon when Corpus Christi police responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident along SPID near Kostoryz Road.
The crash investigation revealed that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed on the freeway when traffic began to slow in front of him. The driver braked hard and then pulled the steering wheel to the right, causing the vehicle to leave the highway and roll onto the access road, coming to a rest on its roof.
After an investigation, it was determined that the driver, identified as 49-year old Eddie J. Perez, was intoxicated. After he was treated for minor injuries at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
