Robstown woman arrested on murder charges, RPD investigating

Robstown police are investigating a fatal stabbing and the victim's wife has been arrested on murder charges.

ROBSTOWN, Texas — A Robstown woman is in the Nueces County Jail facing murder charges after Robstown Police say her common law husband was stabbed to death.

Police were called to a home along the 400 block of W. Avenue C in Robstown where Epimenio Cabrera was found with stab wounds. He was taken to Corpus Christi Medical Center – Northwest Regional Hospital where he later died from his injuries. The first call came in to dispatchers on Sunday night just before 10:30 p.m.

Cabrera's common law wife, Maria Cabrera, was arrested on a murder charge and booked into the Nueces County Jail. Cabera was booked into jail at about 8:00 a.m. Monday morning, her bond has been set at $75,000.

Investigators with the Robstown Police Department are still looking into the case and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

“We want to protect information to protect the integrity of the investigation as Robstown Police Department continues to solve most major crimes within the City and we also want remind the community that we have a family who is handling loss within their family and we need to be sensitive to that.” Chief Erasmo Flores, Robstown Police Department.
