The first Hispanic-American to reach the rank of U.S. Navy captain retired Friday during a special ceremony onboard the U.S.S. Lexington.
Captain Silvester Del Rosario immigrated to the U.S. with his family when he was 17 years old. He retired on Friday after 38 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy.
