Texas A&M Kingsville falls to Angelo State at homecoming game

The Rams defeated the Javelinas Saturday night, 38-16.

KINGSVILLE, Texas — The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Javelinas lost their second game of the season on Saturday to the No. 20-ranked Angelo State Rams.

Javelina Stadium was packed with alumni for the homecoming game, but the Javelinas fell to the Rams, 38-16.

The Javelinas relied on multiple field goals from Gilbert Garza throughout the night, who had three. A 4th quarter rushing touchdown from Roger Hagan gave TAMU-K their first touchdown of the game.

But it was too little, too late as the Rams already had 35 points on the board when Hagan scored. Angelo State added three more points to their lead off a Bradley Larson 24-yard field goal with a little more than 12 minutes left in the game.

The Javelinas are on the road next Saturday after back-to-back home games. They play Eastern New Mexico in another Lone Star Conference matchup.
