CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It's a new era of Calallen football with Charlie Reeve coming over from Victoria East.
Reeve replaces longtime assistant-turned head coach Steve Campbell who retired after taking over for the legendary Phil Danaher. Reeve has brought in several new coaches as Calallen gets set to say so long to the "Wing T" offense.
Even with the new faces on the sideline, the 'Cats say it's a brand new energy that just might be what they needed.
"It feels like a revival," said senior running back/linebacker Jude Hernandez. "Everybody brought the juice."
"This senior group has been impressive," Reeve said. "The difference in being successful year one versus year two is those seniors taking over the program and those guys have really taken it and run with it."
The 'Cats open the season at home on Friday, August 30th in the "Battle of the Wildcats" against G-P.
