GEORGE WEST, Texas — The George West Longhorns are heading into year three under Head Coach Brent Bennett.
The Longhorns return all but a couple of starters on both sides of the ball from a team that missed out on the playoffs by one game. Bennett and the George West players say the goal this offseason and camp has been to get tougher to compete in a tough district with the likes of Odem, Taft and Hebbronville among others.
"The kids believe in what we ask them to do," Bennett told 3News at practice this week. "They're doing it at a faster rate. They're doing it with what we call violence. The kids aren't thinking, they're just playing."
George West opens up on the road at San Diego next Friday night.
