CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The King Mustangs are coming off a rough 2023, but there's nowhere to go but up for Coach Doug Foster's program.
King struggled to an 0-10 season with its closest game being 13 points. The Mustangs have over half their starters returning and they say that effort just isn't going to cut it as they look to surprise some people and become the first King group to make the playoffs since 2016. It starts behind center with dual threat senior quarterback James Mailes.
King opens the season on the road at San Antonio Lanier. They'll open district play on October 10th against rival Carroll.
