ORANGE GROVE, Texas — Orange Grove ISD had a homerun hire this offseason, bringing in former Schertz Clemens coach and 1991 Bulldogs grad Jared Johnston.
Johnston lead Clemens to the state quarterfinal as Head Coach and he also brings a state championship ring with him as well from his time as a coordinator at Cibolo Steele.
That prowess will be needed as the Bulldogs drop down a class into 3A with a district that includes top 10 teams Edna and Goliad.
The Bulldogs kick off the Johnston era with a road game at Rockport-Fulton on Friday, August 30th. They'll have a bye week before beginning district play against a potent Edna Cowboys team on September 27th.
