ROBSTOWN, Texas — The Robstown Pickers finally ended their long 12-year playoff drought last season and now look to make it back-to-back.
Robstown did lose some key seniors, but returns over half of its starters overall. The road to the playoffs did get tougher with both Cuero and Rockport-Fulton coming into the district, but Pickers Head Coach Gage Perry say his team is looking to send a message that Robstown is here to stay.
"The goal is not to go backwards," Perry said. "These kids believe in each other that they want to come out and compete and continuing what we hope will be a tradition."
The Pickers open the season on the road next Friday night at San Antonio John F. Kennedy.
