ROCKPORT, Texas — It's a season of change for Rockport-Fulton, which could be exactly what the Pirates need after a disappointing 2023.
The Pirates dropped down to 4A Division II, but into a district that is just as difficult as the one they left. Rockport-Fulton will compete with the likes of rivals Sinton and Ingleside in addition to regional powerhouse Cuero and Robstown.
It'll be the third head coach in three years for the Pirates with Eric Soza coming in late in the cycle in May. While that definitely puts Rockport-Fulton behind the eight ball, Soza says the Pirates' numerous returners have bought in to his system, which has helped.
The Pirates open up at home on Friday the 30th against Orange Grove, who dropped down to Class 3A.
