SAN DIEGO, Texas — The San Diego Vaqueros not only made the playoffs last season, they took home the district title for a second straight year.
But the Vaqueros also fell to London in the first round for the second consecutive season, this time an overtime loss to the Pirates. The Vaqueros are three years removed from a run to the region semifinal, so Head Coach Bo Ochoa knows that with the experience he has returning, his program is certainly capable of another deep playoff run down the line.
"Maybe we just need to be a little more disciplined," Ochoa said before a scrimmage against Robstown. "We do have some big shoes to fill on the offensive line, but that's why we're here to evaluate some key personnel."
San Diego will host George west next Friday night. The Vaqueros kick off district play with a tough Rio Hondo team down in the Valley on September 20th.
