Blitz Preview: West Oso Bears

The Bears are dropping down to an arguably tougher district than the one they left, but hope some aggressive play could surprise some people.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas β€” The West Oso Bears head from Class 4A down to 3A, but into a district that's arguably more difficult than the one they left.

Two teams are ranked in the top 10 in Edna and Goliad and usual playoff teams, London and now Orange Grove await as well as several others like Mathis, Aransas Pass and Palacios.

West Oso had a big roster turnover over the off-season, but Head Coach Kenneth Johnson says the new guys have bought in over the summer as they look to surprise some people with some aggressive play.

The Bears open the season down in Kingsville against Santa Gertrudis Academy on Friday, August 30.
