CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Calallen Wildcats introduced their new football coach and athletic director Charlie Reeve with a meet-and-greet Tuesday at the high school.
Reeve comes over after serving as Victoria East's head coach this past season. He was unanimously approved by the Calallen ISD school board after being recommended by the "We Will Win" search firm.
Reeve looks to continue the legacy put forth by Phil Danaher and Steve Campbell. Danaher is Texas's all-time winningest coach and Campbell helped continue the streak of 29 straight playoff appearances, a Texas state record.
Reeve didn't have an official start date as of Tuesday afternoon, but he did say getting the 'Cats involved in his offseason program and adjusted to his new system will be a key to early success in the fall.
