CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors brought the TCAL Division I state title home to Corpus Christi after wrapping a dominant season over the weekend.
The Warriors beat the New Braunfels Thunder 61-12 Saturday in Austin to not only finish the year undefeated, but they 45-point ruled all their opponents meaning the game is over once a 45-point lead is reached.
The Warriors outscored their opponents 527 to 54, a huge jump for a senior group that didn't even win any games back when they were in sixth and seventh grade. 3News had a chance to talk with some of those seniors and Head Coach Dr. Andres Garcia, who said the total program turnaround was worth the countless hours spent in practice each and every week.
"They all put it together and they trusted each other," Garcia said. "The blessings from God we were given to be a part of this team is amazing."
"All the seniors and the coaches, (it was) seven years worth of effort," senior defensive tackle Jeremiah Gleason said.
Congrats to the warriors as they bring home another title after just recently winning the volleyball crown as well.
