Ingleside's Jakobsohn presented Blitz Play of the Year trophy

The quarterback showed off the hands (or hand) on the defensive side of the ball to win the honor for the Mustangs.

INGLESIDE, Texas β€” The Ingleside Mustangs and senior Aidan Jakobsohn were presented the "Golden Pigskin" for the Friday Night Sports Blitz Play of the Year Tuesday afternoon.

3News Sports Director Chris Thomasson was on hand to present Jakobsohn with the hardware after he reeled in a one-handed interception against district foe Orange Grove. The prolific Mustangs quarterback was enlisted into defensive duty the game before against Robstown and then showed off the same catching skills against the Bulldogs that his star receiver Jaydon "JC" Smith usually displays.

Smith was on hand as well to talk about Jakobsohn's pick as he immediately threw his hands on his head in disbelief after the catch. Smith tied the national record with 39 touchdown catches on the season, meaning the dynamic senior duo will certainly be missed in Ingleside next season.

Jakobsohn is the first Mustang to win the Blitz Play of the Year honor since Dale Fabacher took it home in 2008.

Coming up in sports, I present quarterback-turned-safety Aidan Jakobsohn and the Ingleside Mustangs with the Blitz Play of the Year trophy!
