CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Miller Buccaneers are one of three local teams still alive in the state quarterfinals this week and for the Bucs, it's all about finishing the job this time.
Miller was in this round last year before losing a 28-7 fourth quarter lead to Brownsville Veterans Memorial. Now, the Bucs face a Boerne Greyhounds program that they saw in the playoffs back when both were in class 4A, albeit back in 2020 before any of these kids were in high school.
Miller is coming off a massive win over #2 Alamo Heights and the Bucs say they're looking to officially put last year's disappointment to bed and win the region.
"We owe our community for last year," senior receiver Eathan Vela said. "We felt like we fell short and let everybody down and we're just looking to move on to the next round."
Miller will face Boerne Friday at 7 PM at the Alamodome. 3News will also have previews with Flour Bluff and Sinton this week and highlights of all three state quarterfinals.
