The Miller Buccaneers were out on the practice field Tuesday morning getting ready for their third straight appearance at state 7-on-7.
The Bucs will be headed back to College Station where they advanced to the championship bracket last season. If the Bucs are going to get back there this week, they'll have to beat some combination of North Texas teams Lewisville and Anna and one of the Division I favorites, Katy Cinco Ranch.
But for Miller it's all about getting ready for the fall and once again making a deep run after going to the state quarterfinal last season. The Bucs will hit the field Friday in pool play.
Sinton is making its first ever appearance at state 7-on-7 Thursday with Beeville Jones back in College Station that day for the first time since 2008.
Miller's schedule (pool play Friday - Div. I):
1 pm vs. Lewisville
2:30 pm vs. Katy Cinco Ranch
4 pm vs. Anna
Sinton schedule (pool play Thursday - Div. II):
1:45 pm vs. Robinson
3:15 pm vs. Ponder
4:45 pm vs. Lumberton
Beeville Jones schedule (pool play Thursday - Div. II):
1:45 pm vs. Lorena
3:15 pm vs. Mineral Wells
4:45 pm vs. Needville
The top two teams from each pool move on to the championship bracket the following morning.
