CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend has two teams in the state baseball tournament this week including the London Pirates who are making Round Rock a regular home away from home.
The Pirates are making their fourth straight trip to state. London has experienced all aspects of state in that span, winning the title in 2022, but also falling in the championship game in 2021 and in the semis last year. They've said all season that this is their second "redemption tour" and for the 10 seniors, their last chance at hoisting another trophy.
The third-ranked Pirates will leave for Round Rock Thursday morning and will take the field at Dell Diamond Friday at 9 AM against #5 Brock. It'll be their third state match-up against the Eagles the last four years. London is 2-0 against them so far.
