Former Sinton Pirate Jaquae Stewart transfers to Texas

Stewart joins a former Sinton teammate with the Longhorns.

AUSTIN, Texas — Former Sinton baseball player Jaquae Stewart announced on social media Monday that he is transferring to the University of Texas from Northwest Florida State Junior College, which went all the way to the JUCO championship game.

Stewart lead all of JUCO with a .538 on base percentage and had a staggering 1.298 slugging percentage.

The former Pirates first baseman is set to join his Sinton teammate Rylan Galvan. Sinton is coached by one of the top Longhorns pitchers of all-time in Adrian Alaniz. Stewart joins a longhorns team looking for a boost as they head into the sec with new coach Jim Schlossnagle coming over from rival Texas A&M.
