Islanders Tennis hosts relocated HEB Tournament of Champions

The 60th edition of the tournament was moved from the Islanders' facility to the HEB Tennis Center due to Friday's rain.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The pouring rain Friday forced Islanders Tennis to relocate the historic HEB Tournament of Champions Tournament over to its former home, the HEB Tennis Center.

Luckily, the covered courts were able to house the tournament which is now in its 60th year of existence. College teams from all over the country come to play in this tournament; Depaul University from up in Chicago has been playing in it ever since Texas A&M-Corpus Christi took over running it back in 2007.

Islanders Head Coach Steve Moore said no weather could stop them from hosting college tennis's longest running team tournament. The HEB Tournament of Champions runs through Saturday.
