LONDON, Texas — Next fall, for the first time in school history, someone other than Robbie Moreno will lead the London High School football team.
London ISD announced Monday that Moreno will resign at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.
Moreno is London's first and only athletics director and football coach. He has led the Pirates football team to the playoffs for 14 straight seasons. That's every single year since the school opened in 2011.
The Pirates finished this season with a 5-6 record and a 52-20 first-round loss in the Class 3A playoffs to Rio Hondo.
The London High School baseball team also performed incredibly well during Moreno's time as athletics director. It won the Class 3A state championship in 2022 and has been to the state tournament four years in a row.
