BALTIMORE — Catches don't get much better than one that the Astros' Mauricio Dubón made Sunday night. But the Astros utility man paid the price when he crashed into the wall, ball in glove.
The play was made in the seventh inning of Houston’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, a game the Astros won 6-3.
With two outs and the Astros up 5-3, Baltimore’s Ramón Urías drove a ball down the left field line off Héctor Neris in his first inning since rejoining the Astros. The ball, according to the ESPN broadcasters, was heading 130 feet from where Dubón was playing.
At the crack of the bat, Dubón was in full sprint while on a crash course with Camden Yards wall. Dubón reached out and caught it. Then two steps later, without slowing down, he slammed right into the wall.

Dubón was down on the field for a few minutes as trainers ran out to check on him. He was able to get up and walk off the field on his own, but was taken out of the game.
“The doctor came and see him,” Astros manager Joe Espada said. “He’s fine, but he’s just going to be sore just because of how hard he ran into that wall.”
