CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — In preparation for the solar eclipse on Monday, students at the School of Science and Technology College Prep High School constructed solar powered rovers Saturday morning.
This was the school's first time being chosen to participate in the NASA High School Aerospace Scholars event.
Over thirty students were given a kit and had to demonstrate critical thinking skills to construct a rover that works with direct solar power.
"As someone who is completely obsessed with space, I love that our students are also equally as obsessed with what's going on and they're really interested in how everything is working and everything fits together in our universe," said Ashton Sigler, event coordinator at the School of Science and Technology College Prep High School.
