CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — SH 358 (South Padre Island Drive) Ramp Reversal Project mainlane closures at Everhart and Weber roads, that were postponed due to weather, are scheduled to resume next week.
Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractors plan night closures to remove temporary barrier and to build the permanent barrier between the eastbound and westbound mainlanes. Crews will also continue painting the Everhart Road bridge.
Closures details include:
SH 358 Eastbound Mainlane and Ramp Closures
- 9 p.m. Monday (2/7) until 6 a.m. Tuesday (2/8): All eastbound SH 358 mainlanes will be closed at Everhart. Drivers will exit at Everhart, continue on the frontage road and may re-enter the mainlanes after Staples Street. The eastbound entrance ramps from Weber and Everhart will also be closed. Drivers may enter eastbound SH 358 after Staples Street.
- Tuesday (2/8) and Wednesday (2/9), 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. both nights: All eastbound SH 358 mainlanes will be closed at Weber. Drivers will exit at Weber, continue on the frontage road, and may re-enter the mainlanes after Staples. The eastbound entrance ramps from Kostoryz Road, Weber and Everhart will also be closed. Drivers may enter eastbound SH 358 after Staples.
Everhart Road Intersection under SH 358
- 9 p.m. Thursday (2/10) to 6 a.m. Friday (2/11): The Everhart intersection under SH 358 will be closed overnight for bridge painting. Detours are:
- Northbound Everhart drivers at SH 358 will be detoured to the eastbound frontage road where they may use the turnaround at the Staples intersection and travel westbound to Everhart.
- Southbound Everhart drivers at SH 358 will be detoured to the westbound frontage road where they may use the turnaround at the Weber intersection and travel eastbound to Everhart.
Meanwhile, these recurring closures continue:
SH 358 Eastbound Frontage Road
- Daytime and nighttime single-lane closures will continue on the eastbound frontage road at various locations between Ayers Street and Airline Road. Driveway access to all businesses and properties will always remain open.
SH 358 Turnarounds
- Turnarounds between Ayers and Nile Drive may close as needed. Drivers may instead make left turns at the intersection which will remain open.
All work is weather permitting. Lane closures are subject to change without notice.
