Meet the 3NEWS meteorologists at Weather Fest on Saturday!

Chief meteorologist Alan Holt, Carly Smith, Kristin Walla and Faith Colbert will talk about all things weather at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Coastal Bend hasn't seen a significant hurricane since Harvey since 2017, thankfully, so, for some, "hurricane season" is an abstract concept.

That's why KIII is teaming up with the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History to host Weather Fest on Saturday.

Chief meteorologist Alan Holt, along with First Edition meteorologist Carly Smith, weekend First Edition meteorologist Faith Colbert and weekend meteorologist Kristin Walla will all be on-hand at the inaugural event doing experiments and talking about weather phenomena that threaten the Coastal Bend such as hurricanes, drought, heat, rip currents, storms and more.

They'll also be premiering our 2024 Hurricane Special -- anyone at Weather Fest will get to see it before we air it on 3NEWS later that night -- they'll have our 2024 Hurricane Guide and participate in a weather-centric panel hosted by First Edition co-anchor John-Thomas Kobos.

For our younger viewers, we'll also have the KIII Weather Kid Zone, where they'll be able to participate in hands-on experiments with meteorologists and museum staff, and have a chance to Color The Weather, with special coloring sheets with Alan, Carly, Kristin and Faith's pictures on them.

They'll even get a chance to be weatherpeople, with a set-up that's just like the one our meteorologists use every day in our 3NEWS studios.

Weather Fest is happening from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, 1900 N. Chaparral St.

The event is included with regular museum admission, which is $12 for people ages 13-64; $9 for active military and veterans, kids ages 3-12, and senior citizens 65 and older; and kids under 2 years old are free. Anyone with a membership to the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History gets in free, as well as anyone with an EBT card or SNAP benefits, starting June 1.
