CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Another cold front moves through the Coastal Bend tonight into Friday morning. It'll be a quiet passage, but north winds pick up at 15-28 mph, Friday.
The cold front will keep temperatures in the lower 60s under mainly sunny skies. Dew points will fall into the 30s. Dry and windy conditions will lead to high fire danger on Friday.
The wind will also create hazardous water conditions. A Gale Watch is in place from 4 AM Friday - 4 AM Saturday. Bays and coastal water will be rough. Seas will be 6-11 feet in the gulf with northerly winds 25-30 knots and gusts up to 40 knots.
Northerly wind will continue to bring dry and cold air into the Coastal Bend on Saturday. A light freeze will be possible for some interior locations of the Coastal Bend, Saturday morning. Temperatures will near freezing for most. If 32 degrees is reached it will be brief. Pets, and sensitive plants will need some protection. Saturday afternoon is another cool & sunny day with highs in the middle to lower 60s. Northerly winds relax 10-15 mph with gusts around 20 mph. Fire danger drops to moderate. Relative humidity remains low.
