CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Rain chances will be best Saturday morning in the Coastal Bend, the primary focus for this time will be in coastal counties for rain. We have decided to use our Weather Impact Branding for this time to call attention to the rain chance; not because the rain is going to be dangerous, but because of the events we know are happening during this higher chance timeframe for rain.
We are expecting scattered, to perhaps numerous showers or storms to be moving in from the the Gulf of Mexico with the best timing being before lunch time. This activity will be focused near the coast.
So, if you are heading out to an event like Heart Walk in the morning, I'd have some rain gear handy in the event that you come across a shower while the walk is going on. If it stays dry, great, but the odds are decent (60%) that rain is in play.
By the afternoon, rain will be working inland with the sea-breeze and rain chances near the coast will be trending down.
Overall, highest totals will be near the coast, where some locations could pick up over an inch of rain. Less as you work more to the north and west.
