CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We're nearing the end of the annual Buc Days festival, and organizers kicked off the start to weekend two with a very touching moment to honor local veterans.
Wednesday night was military and first responders night, and the support could be felt all through the arena.
Two veterans were presented with deeds from Military Warriors Support Foundation at the Corpus Christi Rodeo.
Former U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, Albert Clarke, and former U.S. Army Corporal, Sue Downes, received deeds to a payment-free mortgage and a payment-free vehicle from the Homes4WoundedHeroes and Transportation4Heroes programs.
Both the home and vehicle were provided by the Buccaneer Commission.
During the gifting, the announcer invited to crowd to celebrate, saying "let's give a big heart felt thank you to the Buccaneer Commission and to heroes all over that fight to defend this great nation."
We here at 3NEWS thank those veterans for their service, along with all of our U.S. Military for their service to our country.
