CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The very first Buc Days Cowboy Breakfast was held Tuesday morning by the Buc Days Commission to thank volunteers, sponsors and the community ahead of the first day of the Rodeo!
3NEWS caught up with President and CEO of the Buccaneer Commission Johnny Philipello who says Buc Days has kicked off to a great start so far.
"PBR [Professional Bull Riding] was great, we set a new attendance record," he said "Carnival has been hopping, we had a great parade last weekend and today starts the first day of rodeo."
Philipello also says they expect 100,000 people to attend a Buc Days event this year.
Tuesday night is the Division Youth Showcase with performances by William Beckmann.
The rodeo continues this week with the Rodeo Concert Series before wrapping up Saturday night with a show by country superstar Josh Turner.
